ESPO’s framework offers a simple and effective way to establish books. The framework is available for use by all public and not-for-profit organisations in the UK, including local authorities, library trusts, universities and community organisations.

There are two lots on the framework for print books:

Lot 2.1 – Fiction and Curriculum Books
Children's and adult fiction titles, textbooks, revision guides and reading scheme sets used in schools and colleges by students.

Lot 2.2 – Reference Materials, Handbooks and Manuals
Covers the requirements of education customers for materials such as dictionaries, and encyclopaedias as well as non-education customers such as local authority departments and central governments bodies for reference books related to their area of work.

  • Social value - customers can now view the percentage of social value that suppliers will deliver over the life of their contract, for pre-defined contract value band.
  • Market leading suppliers - From high street retail bookshops to specialist suppliers, customers get access to leading suppliers through the framework.
  • Save time and money - Customers can easily identify the supplier offering the best discount (off RRP) on the specific books they are looking to buy.
  • Pre-approved suppliers - suppliers listed on the framework were assessed during the procurement process for their financial stability, track record, experience and technical & professional ability.
