Easy to use and offers a cost effective separation tool. The visking membranes are cellulose based tubing which has a selective porosity. Widely used where osmosis and filtration are employed.

Molecular Weight Cut-Off is 12000 to 14000 daltons. It is advisable to use a membrane with a cut off well below the molecular weight of the molecule to be retained.
