Summer is always a busy time for school furniture orders with thousands of schools across the country looking to order furniture items in time for the new September term. Every year the high volumes experienced during June and peaking in July can put pressure on manufacturing and can result in delays, however, this year we’re seeing unprecedented demand.
Over the last 12 months the impact of Brexit and Covid-19 has been felt across the industry. Nearly all education furniture is made to order and although suppliers are working hard to complete orders and get them delivered on time, factories are facing higher volumes whilst having to work with reduced staffing due to social distancing guidelines. As a result, many are experiencing longer lead times than usual. This situation is not unique to ESPO suppliers, it is being felt right across the industry.
Help us to help you
If you are about to place a furniture order please follow our checklist to help ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible. Because of the issues mentioned above, we cannot guarantee that your order will not be affected, but it will help to reduce further delays.
Please add your full contact details when ordering furniture, including the mobile number of a contact onsite during the summer. This would enable, where possible, manufacturers to arrange deliveries during the holidays.
If you have already placed an order for furniture, please be patient. Furniture orders placed on or after 29 June 2021, are currently expecting delays of upto 12-weeks depeding on the ongoing supply chain issues. We are working closely with our suppliers to help minimise the impact of any disruptions and our team will do their very best to keep you informed on the situation.
