In aid to create and support more jobs post-Covid-19, the incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice has been extended for a further two months to 31 March 2021 - this includes recruiting apprentices who have been made redundant.
To help support employers who hire new apprentices, it was recently announced by chancellor Rishi Sunak that from 01 August 2020 to 31 March 2021, firms who hire an apprentice aged 16 to 24 will receive £2,000 - in addition to the existing £1,000 incentive for those aged 16-18 years old - and for apprentices aged 25 and over will be paid £1,500.
The payment can be used to support your organisation’s cost for hiring a new apprentice such as uniforms, travel expenses or towards their salary - there is no need to pay the money back.
