ESPO Short Story Competition 2017

Published on 11/09/2017

At ESPO, we believe that reading and writing are two of the most important skills for children to develop – so this year we have decided to launch our first Short Story Competition for Key Stage 2 students. This is a great opportunity to inspire your class to get creative with pen and paper (or a keyboard!).

And what’s more, the best story as decided by our judge will win some fantastic literacy related prizes for the student inlcuding a Kindle Paperwhite, and ESPO account credit worth £150 for the school. There are also second and third place prizes available. Read our competition rules for full prize details.

This year’s theme is “The best school day ever”. We would like students to write, in 500 words or less, a story about what would be their perfect day at school. It can be as imaginative and creative as they wish – to get you started, why not take a look at some of the creative writing inspiration products in our catalogue.

To enter this competition, please submit your story (or stories) below by the closing date of Friday 17th November. This form should be completed by a teacher on behalf of a student or class. If you have any questions, or difficulties with the form, please contact us at story@espo.org and we will be happy to help.

This competition has now closed. We received some fantastic entries, so a big thank you to everyone that entered. Winners will be announced after Christmas.
