Books for schools

Our guide to help schools purchase through the Books and Related Materials framework (376E)

The following step-by-step guide is designed to make the ordering process as easy as possible for schools. Should you have any query whatsoever, please call Catherine Watson on 0116 294 4169 or email c.watson@espo.org. I will be happy to talk through your specific requirements and help with any stage of the buying process.

How to use ESPO Framework 376E

  1. Register for a MyESPO account. This is required as you will be given access to confidential discounts. The process is normally very quick for schools (often same day) and we will email you when your account is activated. Please note that:
    • If you currently have an account for online ordering on www.espocatalogue.org, this doesn't necessarily mean that you already have an account to view frameworks on www.espo.org - you may have one or the other, both, or neither.
    • You can register to access frameworks whether your school has a catalogue account with us or not. If you are not sure which option to choose, please select "I am a new customer" which will let you progress whatever your current situation is.
    • If the form shows the message "This email address has been used in a previous application" then you already have a frameworks account and will be able to log in. If you are having difficulties logging in, please press the "Forgotten your password" button.
  2. Log in with your account, and visit the Framework 376E web page. All forms and documents referenced below can be found in the ‘Downloads’ section of this page.
  3. Download and complete the Customer Access Agreement form and return this to us by email at care@espo.org. This is required as suppliers offer preferential terms to ESPO and require that their discount information is restricted to ESPO customers. By signing this form, you will simply be agreeing to use the framework in line with the process described below.
  4. You are now ready to order your books! Download the framework User Guide containing supplier details, discount information and further details about using the framework.
  5. Check out the suppliers’ discount rates at page 8 of the User Guide. These are listed by publisher, so you can identify the supplier offering the best discount for your specific requirement. If you don’t know the publisher of the books you require you can find this information by searching the books’ titles or ISBNs on any of the suppliers’ websites (see page 12 of the User Guide onwards).
  6. Contact your chosen supplier to confirm availability, delivery times and pricing (contact details for all suppliers can be found on page 6 of the User Guide). The quote should reflect the discount from the RRP stated within the User Guide.
  7. Place your order with your chosen supplier! You can download and use the template Order Form provided, or place your order by telephone or email – make sure you quote ‘ESPO Framework 376E’ so you get the agreed discounts. Avoid using order forms provided by the supplier, as these will contain the supplier’s own ordering terms, whereas you want to place your order under the terms of the ESPO framework because this means that you will be getting the best deal.
  8. You also have the option to run a further competition amongst the suppliers if you believe even better pricing could be achieved (usually for larger quantities). If you would like to try this, please contact ESPO for more information.
  9. Please download and complete the Confirmation of Award form. This document helps ESPO manage the contracts and ensure that suppliers adhere to the terms of the framework.

Many thanks for using this ESPO framework!
